Giving & Caring

Here’s how Care Campaign got started

As footage and social media responses to covid-19 flood media screens I began to ponder the mind and emotional state of my community and my nation. While staying at home, I began some 8 in x 8 in water based works. Washes of color, scratching into graphite paper on the surface, and a few areas of mineral. I try to invoke the anxiety in the air upon the backdrop of the beautiful spring days before me. The potential to fear bowed before the bucolic scenes off my deck into the budding woods. These works became the inspiration for Hope Cards  also called Letters of Hope.

It was here in my bedroom turned makeshift studio that CARE CAMPAIGNS were created. These care campaigns are a way to gather the community to send Hope Cards and other gifts, such as hand cream, to those who continue to sacrifice and serve others during this turbulent time. Mindful of the stress, and for some people trauma of today, I believe that small acts of kindness encourage, uplift and nourish hearts.
